Tikarpada Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the most important tourist sites in Odisha and spreads across an area of 795.52 sq km. It is located on the banks of River Mahanadi, about 140 km from Bhubaneswar. The sanctuary is famous for its gharial or crocodile species. Besides these, tourists can also spot tigers, pangolins, leopards, spotted deer, elephants, rhesus, macaques, snakes, turtles etc.
