Chikmagalur is a hill station in Karnataka, a state in southwest India. To the north is Baba Budangiri, a mountain range in the Western Ghats, with 3 large caves said to be holy. Trails through forests and grasslands lead up to Mullayanagiri Peak. The cascading Hebbe Falls lie in an area of coffee plantations. The forested Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, northwest of Chikmagalur, is home to elephants, tigers and leopards.
Chikmagaluru (known officially as Chikkamagaluru in its anglicised form), is a city and the headquarters of Chikmagalur district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Located on the foothills of the Mullayanagiri peak of the Western Ghaats, the city attracts tourists from around the state for its pleasant and favourable hill station climate, tropical rainforest and coffee estates.
The mission is double; firstly to promote exchange of research experience in tourism and secondly other forms of co-operation among its members.
